Well, I spoke too soon

After a 3 day stretch of getting some sleep and feeling great, the past two nights have made up for it! Maybe it's another growth spurt, maybe my milk is low, maybe they're teething, maybe I should just be thankful I get any sleep at all! It's hard to look back and remember exactly how hard those first 4 months were, and furthermore, it's really difficult to remember how hard those last few months of my pregnancy were, but whenever I think I'm having a hard day I just think back to those days and remember the never-ending pain of carrying two babies, the long drives back and forth to the NICU, the sleepless nights and sleepless days, the overwhelming worry, the lonesome hours spent pumping, the constant delirium, the nagging depression, and I quickly recognize just how spectacular it is to be happy and healthy.

I need to give a shout out to my mom, who has spent the last two days over here helping me re-coup after the long nights. Somewhere between months 4-6 I seem to have taken her generous help for granted. Mom: Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the depths of my laundry baskets. I love you.

Other than not sleeping, life must go on. Last night Scott and I went out for Sushi, just the two of us. It was just what we needed, we got to have a full conversation, laugh, share a beer, catch up , and plan a mini vacation. It was great! Thanks again mom for making this possible.

Today my mom and I took the Twins to get pedicures! Well, we got the pedis, and the twins got fed. Did I tell you how much I enjoy breastfeeding! It's so easy to feed them anytime and whenever they are hungry. I just use my nursing cover, I have several, but that is my favorite because it is contoured at the bottom to stay close to your body. Axl also chewed on his Girafie, I'll need to buy another since it's becoming a favorite of theirs too. Today the twins had their 6 month photo shoot with Brianne from Winks Photography (check out the link on the left). I can't wait to share these cute pics with everyone.
One more cute thing: Ellie is playing with her baby dolls, she has keys in her hand and marker on her lips (lipstick), a play cell phone in her hand and she tells me "goodbye mommy, I'm going to the store to buy you some yogurt" when I don't answer, she says louder: "mommy, mommy... (pause)... LINDSAY, LINDSAY" I laugh out loud, and she joins me!

  1. I know some days must be hard, especially with little sleep! BUT, you are doing such a fantastic job! I can't imagine having twins and a toddler too! I think it is great that you were able to get out of the house and I am sure it is wonderful having your moms help!

I wanted to share a site with you. One of my good friends from Ohio has 2 sets of twins and a 6 year old! So, 5 girls under the age of 6! She has a blog she writes on almost daily. It is a great site to read...she is hilarious and when I am having a hard day I like to read her blog b/c it always puts a smile on my face.

Here is the site, Savvy Little Women, http://savvylittlewomen.blogspot.com/

  2. Linz, you are amazing. I can't even imagine how hard it is having one child (hence the reason I have been selfishly waiting) much less twins! I love your stories and how fun is it that you will be able to look back on all of this someday and remember the feelings and things you were going through.
