Y'all Be Quiet Now

The babies are back to waking at night and so there goes my sane and positive attitude ;(
Yesterday on the way home from running errands, I found myself answering Ellie's repeated question "is Sadie and Paige coming to my house mommy?" for the 33rd time.  I had absolutely no patience for my sweet little El-bell, and I was just about to SNAP, when I remembered what my grandpa used to say to all of us grandkids when he was driving us around in the Taco Bell (his white chevy).  He would cut us off in mid sentence or in the middle of laughing at eachother's jokes, while reaching for the tuner to turn up his Big Band music he would say in his Texan accent: "Y'all  be quiet now".  And that was it, we were quiet. At the time I remember thinking Papa was no fun, he was controlling, and just wanted to listen to his music, but yesterday I completely understood him.
One thing I love about getting older is these memories of my childhood and getting a second look at them as an adult  My Papa had the best sayings, and I have always regretted not writing them all down when they were fresh on our minds after he died many years ago.  But every now and again, they pop into my head at just the right time when I need a little reminder or something to smile at.

Happenings~
Ellie is looking everywhere for "our American flag" and then wants to sing and recite the pledge of aligance for each one that we see!  It's very cute.
Randi asked Ellie what she wanted to be when she grows up, and without skipping a beat she said : "my daddy"
Axl's 5th and 6th teeth are showing, and Stella has none
Stella is a great crawler!  I'm smitten with the way she slaps her hands down one by one on our tile floors.  I hope she crawls forever : P
Stella is a talker, she says dada, baba, gaga, and longer combinations too.  Axl talks, but he doesn't come close to the conversations that Stella carries on.
Axl started waving today.
Axl is a full on cruiser, from one end of the couch to the other.
Oh, and the babies always want what each other has, and they fight for it. Scratching, clawing, and crawling over one and other to get it!

  1. I remember seeing Nani and Papa walking at the mall and would ask how they were and he would always reply, "Just barely makin'it". It would always make me smile and laugh :)
